My 853 BCS has literally transformed and elevated the way I approach farming on our food insecure island of Kauai. As a young, beginner female farmer, living on the most isolated, populated land mass in the world - the BCS has become this girl's best friend! Our regenerative farm offers hands-on, educational work days that are open to our community to gather, learn and grow. A majority of our volunteers are local women and men, who are interested but a little intimidated to operate a machine of this nature. However, due to the smart, safe and user-friendly design of the BCS and attachments, they have all shared how shockingly easy it is to use and how much more useful and skillful they feel after using the BCS! As we take on the challenge of regenerating our depleted Hawaiian soils, while simultaneously working to help build and feed our community- I feel incredibly empowered by my BCS and I am blessed to also have the rotary plow attachment to make my permanent, minimal-till beds. Next on this small farmers list?! A dreamy flail mower attachment to add in our cover crops like a boss!
